Pro-X10 Ingredients & Drug Interactions
by BioTrust
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Pro-X10 against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

HelloPharmacist Scorecard of Pro-X10 by BioTrust
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
Pro-X10 contains 7 active ingredients — all probiotics (beneficial bacteria and a bacterial spore). You get Lactobacillus plantarum, Bifidobacterium breve, Lactobacillus acidophilus, Lactobacillus rhamnosus, Bifidobacterium animalis lactis, Bacillus subtilis DE111, and a prebiotic ingredient called PreforPro.
The inactive ingredients are rice dextrin, gelatin, and medium chain triglyceride — these are the capsule and carriers that hold everything together.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The evidence for this product is mixed and depends on the specific ingredient and what you're taking it for. Lactobacillus acidophilus shows possibly effective evidence for irritable bowel syndrome, Helicobacter pylori infection, antibiotic-associated diarrhea, and bacterial vaginosis.
Bacillus subtilis DE111 is possibly effective for antibiotic-associated diarrhea. For most other conditions the product might address — like hay fever, atopic disease, athletic performance, and constipation — the evidence is insufficient or doesn't exist in our data.
Talk with your doctor about whether this product fits your specific health goal.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Lactobacillus acidophilus is generally well tolerated in healthy adults and children, and is possibly safe during pregnancy. The other ingredients are generally well tolerated in healthy people, but caution is advised for anyone who is very ill or immunocompromised — probiotics aren't guaranteed safe for everyone.
Rare side effects from probiotic use include gastrointestinal discomfort (bloating, flatulence, abdominal pain), and in very rare cases, bacteremia (bacteria in the bloodstream) has been reported in critically ill or very young patients. Since safety data are limited across these ingredients, check with your doctor before starting, especially if you have a weakened immune system or are in poor health.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Separate this product from antibiotic drugs by several hours — antibiotics can kill the live organisms in Pro-X10 and make it less effective. Check your exact medications with the tool on this page to be sure.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Pro-X10 is a multi-strain probiotic that may help with certain digestive and immune conditions — particularly antibiotic-associated diarrhea and irritable bowel syndrome — though the evidence is strongest for some ingredients than others. The main thing to watch is timing: if you take antibiotics, space them several hours apart from this product.
If you're very ill, immunocompromised, or pregnant, talk with your doctor or pharmacist before starting to make sure it's right for you.

Pro-X10 by BioTrust Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Pro-X10 by BioTrust contains several probiotic bacteria, three of which have documented interactions with medications.
Through its Bifidobacterium breve, Lactobacillus acidophilus, and Bacillus subtilis DE111 content, this product interacts with antibiotic drugs — the most serious concern is a Moderate-severity interaction where antibiotics may kill the live organisms in the product and reduce its effectiveness.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
All three of these ingredients share the same interaction pattern with antibiotics. Since probiotic preparations contain live and active organisms, taking them at the same time as antibiotics might kill a significant number of the bacteria.
The fix is straightforward: separate when you take them — don't dose them together.
We couldn't check three other ingredients in this product: Lactobacillus plantarum, Lactobacillus rhamnosus, Bifidobacterium animalis lactis, and PreforPro. Altogether, these interactions span 182 individual medications.

Bacillus subtilis DE111
Antibiotic Drugs
Theoretically, taking Bacillus subtilis with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of B. subtilis.
Since B. subtilis preparations usually contain live and active organisms, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and B. subtilis preparations by at least 2 hours.
Bifidobacterium breve
Antibiotic Drugs
Theoretically, taking Bifidobacterium breve with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of B. breve.
Since B. breve preparations usually contain live and active organisms, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and B. breve preparations by at least 2 hours.
Lactobacillus acidophilus
