Probiota HistaminX Ingredients & Drug Interactions
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Probiota HistaminX against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
Probiota HistaminX contains 7 active ingredients—all of them live beneficial bacteria (probiotics). The strains are Bifidobacterium animalis lactis, Bifidobacterium longum, Lactobacillus plantarum, Lactobacillus salivarius, Bifidobacterium infantis, Bifidobacterium bifidum, and Bifidobacterium breve.
These work as a blended probiotic formula meant to support your gut flora. The capsule also contains inactive ingredients (the supporting materials): microcrystalline cellulose, a vegetarian capsule shell, L-leucine, and silica.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The evidence for these probiotics varies by strain and condition. Bifidobacterium bifidum shows possibly effective evidence for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and respiratory tract infections.
Bifidobacterium breve, however, shows possibly ineffective evidence for age-related cognitive decline and sepsis. For most other conditions listed—including antibiotic-associated diarrhea, hay fever, anxiety, and asthma—the evidence we hold is insufficient to rate these strains reliably.
The data we have doesn't establish broad effectiveness for this product across multiple conditions.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
These probiotics are generally well tolerated in healthy people. However, caution is advised if you're seriously ill, immunocompromised, or have a weakened immune system—in rare cases, probiotic bacteria have caused bloodstream infections (bacteremia) in critically ill infants and adults, sometimes presenting as sepsis.
Rare side effects reported with probiotic use include abdominal discomfort, bloating, flatulence, constipation, and in isolated cases, dry cough or vomiting with fever. Bifidobacterium bifidum and Bifidobacterium breve carry limited safety data, so check with your doctor before use, especially if you're breastfeeding.
For pregnancy, Bifidobacterium bifidum and Bifidobacterium longum are rated possibly safe, but consult your healthcare provider for personalized advice.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before taking Probiota HistaminX, double-check with your doctor or pharmacist if you take any antibiotic drugs (Moderate severity interaction). The antibiotics can kill off the probiotic bacteria if you take them at the same time.
Timing your doses hours apart can help, but your healthcare provider should guide you on the best schedule for your specific situation.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with some supporting evidence behind its ingredients' uses. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
If you have a healthy immune system and are not taking antibiotics, this probiotic blend may be worth trying—particularly if you have IBS or recurrent respiratory infections, where two of the strains show possibly effective evidence. However, if you're critically ill, immunocompromised, or regularly on antibiotics, talk it over with your doctor or pharmacist first to weigh the benefit against the rare but serious risks.
Space any probiotic dose several hours away from antibiotics to protect the live bacteria.

Probiota HistaminX by Seeking Health Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Probiota HistaminX by Seeking Health contains three probiotic strains with documented interactions: Bifidobacterium longum, Bifidobacterium bifidum, and Bifidobacterium breve.
All three interact with antibiotic drugs (Moderate severity). Since these probiotics are live organisms, taking them at the same time as antibiotics may allow the antibiotics to kill off a significant portion of the probiotic bacteria, reducing their effectiveness.
The solution is straightforward: space out your doses—take your antibiotic and your probiotic several hours apart, or ask your doctor or pharmacist for specific timing.

We were not able to check four of the other bacterial strains in this product (Bifidobacterium animalis lactis, Lactobacillus plantarum, Lactobacillus salivarius, and Bifidobacterium infantis) because we hold no interaction data for them.
Altogetherr, these interactions span 182 individual medications. Before you start this product, use the medication checker on this page to see if any of your prescriptions or over-the-counter drugs are affected, especially if you take antibiotics regularly or anticipate needing them soon.
