What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Probiotic Solutions Sport 25 Billion CFUs against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

HelloPharmacist Scorecard of Probiotic Solutions Sport 25 Billion CFUs by GNC Probiotic Solutions
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
This product contains 8 active ingredients: L-Glutamine (an amino acid), two protease enzyme blends, four live probiotic bacterial strains (Bacillus subtilis, Lactobacillus acidophilus in two different strains, Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. lactis, and Bifidobacterium bifidum), elevATP, and Ananas comosus. The probiotics are meant to support your gut bacteria and digestion; glutamine supports muscle recovery and gut health; and the proteases help break down protein.
The capsule also contains inactive ingredients (fillers and binders) including hydroxypropylmethylcellulose, maltodextrin, silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate, and titanium dioxide.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The evidence for these ingredients is mixed. L-Glutamine is considered effective for sickle cell disease and possibly effective for HIV/AIDS-related wasting and postoperative recovery.
Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium bifidum are both possibly effective for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and antibiotic-associated diarrhea. Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. lactis is possibly effective for respiratory tract infections, IBS, and constipation.
For athletic performance and other conditions listed on the label, the evidence we hold either isn't established or is rated insufficient. Talk with your doctor about whether this product makes sense for your specific goal.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
The live probiotic strains in this product are generally well tolerated by most healthy people. L-Glutamine is also generally well tolerated, though it can cause bloating, gas, nausea, diarrhea, or constipation in some people.
Rare cases of dizziness or headache have been reported with glutamine; in two patients with bipolar disorder, high doses were associated with mania or hypomania. Because these probiotics contain live organisms, there's a theoretical concern they could cause infection in people with weakened immune systems, though this is uncommon.
If you have kidney or liver disease, you should use L-Glutamine only under medical supervision. For pregnancy, L-Glutamine is likely safe, and Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium strains are possibly safe, but data for Bacillus subtilis during pregnancy and lactation are not on file—talk with your doctor or midwife if you're pregnant or nursing.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
If you take antibiotic drugs, space them out from this product—antibiotics can kill the live probiotics and reduce their effectiveness. If you take anticonvulsant medications (seizure drugs), talk with your doctor or pharmacist before starting this product, since L-Glutamine might theoretically interfere with how they work.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
This is a multi-strain probiotic with glutamine and enzymes, mainly positioned for gut health and athletic recovery. It's generally well tolerated in healthy people, but you'll want to separate it from antibiotic medications and talk with your doctor if you take seizure medications.
If you have a weakened immune system or kidney/liver disease, check with your healthcare provider first.

Probiotic Solutions Sport 25 Billion CFUs by GNC Probiotic Solutions Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
GNC Probiotic Solutions Sport 25 Billion CFUs interacts with medications through its L-Glutamine, Bacillus subtilis, Lactobacillus acidophilus (two strains), Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. lactis, and Bifidobacterium bifidum content.

Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
All six of the live probiotic bacteria strains in this product interact with antibiotic drugs. Since these probiotics contain living organisms, taking antibiotics at the same time might kill a significant number of them and reduce their effectiveness.
You'll want to space out your antibiotics and this supplement by a few hours.
Additionally, the enzyme blends listed as ingredients (Protease and ProHydrolase Protease Enzyme Blend) are broken down into their individual components in the label, so we've checked those separately. We could not check elevATP or Ananas comosus (pineapple enzyme), as interaction data isn't available for them.
Altogether, these interactions span 232 individual medications. To see if any of your specific prescriptions are affected, use the medication checker on this page.

For each ingredient in Probiotic Solutions Sport 25 Billion CFUs with known interactions, here are the types of medications they can affect. Open any type for the detail — or search your exact drug in the checker above.
Lactobacillus acidophilus CUL-60
Antibiotic Drugs
Theoretically, taking Lactobacillus acidophilus with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of L. acidophilus.
L. acidophilus preparations usually contain live and active organisms. Therefore, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and L. acidophilus preparations by at least two hours.
Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. lactis (CUL-34)
Antibiotic Drugs
Theoretically, taking Bifidobacterium lactis with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of B. lactis.
Since B. lactis preparations usually contain live and active organisms, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and B. lactis preparations by at least 2 hours.
Bifidobacterium bifidum CUL-20
Antibiotic Drugs
Theoretically, taking Bifidobacterium. bifidum with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of B. bifidum.
Since B. bifidum preparations usually contain live and active organisms, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and B. bifidum preparations by at least 2 hours.
L-Glutamine
Anticonvulsants
Theoretically, glutamine might antagonize the effects of anticonvulsant medications.
Glutamine is metabolized to the excitatory neurotransmitter glutamate. Glutamate might have antagonistic effects with anticonvulsant drugs. However, this interaction has not yet been reported in humans.
