Every active ingredient lists its own amount on the label.

Why this rating?
  • The label discloses an exact amount for 1 of its 1 active ingredient.
  • No proprietary blends here — you can verify the dose of every single component.

This product contains one active ingredient: raspberry ketone, a compound found naturally in raspberries. The capsule itself is made from gelatin.

Evidence for Intended Use · database check
By FDA rules, dietary supplements can’t claim to treat, cure, or prevent disease — so labels speak in careful marketing language. We discern each product’s intended use from its name, label claims, and label statements, then grade the clinical evidence for that use. How these ratings are computed
Not established

The graded evidence we hold for these ingredients covers different conditions than the ones this product is marketed for, so there's no established rating for its stated use — see Raspberry Ketone's own graded uses on its monograph.

Why this rating?
  • The label markets this product for: shrink fat cells and support healthy metabolism.
  • We looked for evidence on: Obesity, weight management, metabolic support, fat reduction.
  • The closest evidence on file: Raspberry Ketone is rated "Insufficient Reliable Evidence To Rate" for Obesity (Natural Medicines).

The evidence we hold shows insufficient reliable data to rate raspberry ketone for either of its common uses — hair loss (alopecia areata) or weight management (obesity). While the supplement is marketed for these purposes, human studies haven't yet established that it works.

How safe is it?

Well-documented data
Safety Information · database check
Well characterized

Adverse-effect, pregnancy, and general safety data are on file for most of these ingredients.

Why this rating?
  • We hold adverse-effect (side-effect) data for 1 of the 1 matched ingredient.
  • Pregnancy & breastfeeding safety ratings cover 1 of 1.
  • General safety write-ups exist for 1 of 1.
  • Remember: this measures how much safety information exists. Thin data is not the same as being safe.

Raspberry ketone is used in foods safely, but high-dose supplement safety in humans is poorly studied. Because of its stimulant-like structure, reported side effects include heart palpitations, elevated blood pressure, rapid heartbeat, sweating, diarrhea, and shakiness — though these remain uncommon and aren't well documented in controlled trials.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding safety data are insufficient; the available information advises against use during both pregnancy and lactation until more is known. Talk with your doctor or pharmacist about whether this product is right for you in these situations.

The most serious documented interaction for these ingredients is Moderate. Check your medications for a personalized result.

Why this rating?
  • 1 of the 1 matched ingredient can interact with medications — Raspberry Ketone.
  • The most serious interaction on file is rated Moderate.
  • Some involve high-stakes drug classes: anticoagulant / antiplatelet drugs.
  • For scale: 174 individual medications appear in the full list. A big number alone doesn't make a product dangerous — what matters is whether YOUR medication is on it, so run yours through the interaction checker on this page.

Before taking Raspberry Ketones, double-check with your doctor or pharmacist if you take warfarin or other blood thinners — raspberry ketone may reduce their effectiveness and require a dose adjustment. Also flag any stimulant medications (decongestants, diet pills, ADHD drugs, or others) with your healthcare provider, as combined use could raise your heart rate or blood pressure.

The bottom line

Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no established evidence rating for its marketed use. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.

Raspberry Ketones by Pure might appeal to someone interested in natural weight management or hair health, but evidence it actually works is lacking. The bigger concern is if you take a blood thinner like warfarin or any stimulant medication — this product could interfere with how they work.

Check with your doctor or pharmacist before adding it, especially if you're on any prescription drugs or have heart concerns.

Stimulant Drugs

Theoretically, raspberry ketone might increase the risk of adverse cardiovascular effects with stimulant drugs.
Structurally, raspberry ketone resembles synephrine, a known stimulant agent. Heart palpitations, elevated blood pressure, coronary vasospasm, pulseless electrical activity arrest, and resistant polymorphic ventricular tachycardia have been reported in patients taking raspberry ketone.

Likelihood Possible Evidence D
Warfarin (Coumadin)

Theoretically, raspberry ketone might increase warfarin dose requirements.
In one case report, a patient taking warfarin 55 mg per week had a decrease in INR over a period of one month while taking raspberry ketone 250 mg daily. A warfarin dose increase to 70 mg per week was necessary to maintain a therapeutic INR while taking raspberry ketone. The mechanism for this potential interaction is not known.

Raspberry Ketones by Pure: Common Questions

Does Raspberry Ketones by Pure interact with any medications?
Yes. Based on its ingredients, Raspberry Ketones has a known interaction with 174 medications. Use the checker to see how it interacts with a specific drug.
How can one product interact with so many drugs?
Raspberry Ketones contains a single active ingredient, and that one ingredient can interact with many different medications on its own. We check it against each medication and show the mechanism responsible.
Where does this information come from?
The product label data comes from the NIH Dietary Supplement Label Database (DSLD); the interaction data is built on the Natural Medicines database and reviewed by HelloPharmacist pharmacists.
Does raspberry ketone actually help with weight loss?
The evidence we hold shows insufficient reliable data to say whether it works. While it's marketed for weight management, human studies haven't yet proven its effectiveness.
Can I take this if I'm on warfarin?
Not without talking to your doctor first. Raspberry ketone may reduce how well warfarin works, and you might need a higher dose to keep your blood clotting at the right level. Your doctor needs to monitor you and adjust your medication as needed.
What side effects might I notice?
Although not well studied, stimulant-like side effects are possible — heart palpitations, rapid heartbeat, elevated blood pressure, sweating, diarrhea, and shakiness have been reported. These are uncommon, but cases have occurred.
Is it safe to take during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
No. There isn't enough safety information, and the available data advises against use during both pregnancy and lactation. Talk with your doctor or pharmacist about your options if you're pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.
What is raspberry ketone?
It's a compound found naturally in raspberries. In this supplement, it's a concentrated form taken at doses much higher than you'd get from eating raspberries.
