Every active ingredient lists its own amount on the label.

Why this rating?
  • The label discloses an exact amount for 1 of its 1 active ingredient.
  • No proprietary blends here — you can verify the dose of every single component.

This product contains one active ingredient: raspberry ketone, at 100 milligrams per capsule. Raspberry ketones are compounds naturally found in red raspberries; in this supplement, they're provided in concentrated form.

The capsule itself is made from vegetable material.

Evidence for Intended Use · database check
By FDA rules, dietary supplements can’t claim to treat, cure, or prevent disease — so labels speak in careful marketing language. We discern each product’s intended use from its name, label claims, and label statements, then grade the clinical evidence for that use. How these ratings are computed
Not established

The graded evidence we hold for these ingredients covers different conditions than the ones this product is marketed for, so there's no established rating for its stated use — see Raspberry Ketone's own graded uses on its monograph.

Why this rating?
  • The label markets this product for: weight management.
  • We looked for evidence on: Obesity, weight loss, metabolic support, body composition.
  • The closest evidence on file: Raspberry Ketone is rated "Insufficient Reliable Evidence To Rate" for Obesity (Natural Medicines).

The evidence we hold doesn't establish that raspberry ketone works for alopecia areata (hair loss in patchy areas) or obesity — the data rates both uses as having insufficient reliable evidence to draw a conclusion. If you're considering this supplement for either condition, talk it over with your doctor to weigh whether the unproven benefits outweigh the known interaction and safety risks.

How safe is it?

Well-documented data
Safety Information · database check
Well characterized

Adverse-effect, pregnancy, and general safety data are on file for most of these ingredients.

Why this rating?
  • We hold adverse-effect (side-effect) data for 1 of the 1 matched ingredient.
  • Pregnancy & breastfeeding safety ratings cover 1 of 1.
  • General safety write-ups exist for 1 of 1.
  • Remember: this measures how much safety information exists. Thin data is not the same as being safe.

Raspberry ketone is used safely in foods, but human safety data for the high supplement doses in this product is very limited. Case reports describe stimulant-related side effects after taking raspberry ketone by mouth, including heart palpitations, a rapid heartbeat, elevated blood pressure, and in rare cases serious heart arrhythmias (abnormal rhythms).

Some people have also reported sweating, diarrhea, and shakiness. The safety data advises against use during pregnancy and while breastfeeding because there isn't enough information to know whether it's safe at supplement doses.

Moderate identified

The most serious documented interaction for these ingredients is Moderate. Check your medications for a personalized result.

Why this rating?
  • 1 of the 1 matched ingredient can interact with medications — Raspberry Ketone.
  • The most serious interaction on file is rated Moderate.
  • Some involve high-stakes drug classes: anticoagulant / antiplatelet drugs.
  • For scale: 174 individual medications appear in the full list. A big number alone doesn't make a product dangerous — what matters is whether YOUR medication is on it, so run yours through the interaction checker on this page.

Before taking this product, double-check with your doctor or pharmacist if you're on stimulant drugs of any kind — the interaction is Moderate and can raise the risk of heart problems. Also check if you take warfarin or other blood thinners; raspberry ketone may make them less effective.

The bottom line

Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no established evidence rating for its marketed use. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.

Raspberry ketone is mainly of concern if you take stimulant medications or blood thinners like warfarin — both can have serious interactions with this supplement. Safety data for high-dose supplements is limited, and the evidence doesn't yet support its use for hair loss or weight.

If you're thinking about taking this product, talk it over with your doctor or pharmacist first, especially if you're on any heart or blood medications.

Stimulant Drugs

Theoretically, raspberry ketone might increase the risk of adverse cardiovascular effects with stimulant drugs.
Structurally, raspberry ketone resembles synephrine, a known stimulant agent. Heart palpitations, elevated blood pressure, coronary vasospasm, pulseless electrical activity arrest, and resistant polymorphic ventricular tachycardia have been reported in patients taking raspberry ketone.

Likelihood Possible Evidence D
Warfarin (Coumadin)

Theoretically, raspberry ketone might increase warfarin dose requirements.
In one case report, a patient taking warfarin 55 mg per week had a decrease in INR over a period of one month while taking raspberry ketone 250 mg daily. A warfarin dose increase to 70 mg per week was necessary to maintain a therapeutic INR while taking raspberry ketone. The mechanism for this potential interaction is not known.
