Recovery SAP Ingredients & Drug Interactions
by NFH
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Recovery SAP against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

What’s inside
Low disclosure
Recovery SAP is a multi-strain probiotic supplement with 11 active probiotic ingredients—different species of Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium bacteria designed to support your gut flora. The product also contains several inactive ingredients (fillers and capsule material): vegetable magnesium stearate, potato starch, ascorbic acid, inulin, arabinogalactan, vegetable hypromellose, acetate succinate, and purified water.
Does it work?
Not established
The data we hold shows insufficient reliable evidence to rate most of the uses these probiotics are marketed for—including allergic rhinitis (hay fever), antibiotic-associated diarrhea, cognitive function, depression, diarrhea, anxiety, asthma, acne, and common cold. For a few conditions (age-related cognitive decline and sepsis), the evidence suggests they may be ineffective.
In short, the evidence backing these specific strains for most health claims is limited or not yet established in our data.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
The probiotics in this product are generally well tolerated in healthy people, but caution is needed if you're seriously ill or have a weakened immune system—talk with your doctor before using. Rare cases of bacterial infection (bacteremia) related to probiotics have been reported in critically ill patients and preterm infants.
Mild gastrointestinal side effects like bloating, flatulence, abdominal discomfort, and constipation have been reported rarely. Because safety data are limited, especially during pregnancy and breastfeeding, check with your doctor before starting this product if you're pregnant or nursing.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
If you're taking antibiotics, check with your doctor or pharmacist about timing—separate your antibiotic dose from this probiotic by several hours, since antibiotics can reduce how well the probiotics work. This is a Moderate-severity interaction worth coordinating with your healthcare provider.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with no established evidence rating for its marketed use. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Recovery SAP is a multi-strain probiotic blend generally well tolerated by healthy people, but the evidence for its specific uses is not yet established. The main caution is with antibiotics—you'll need to space them apart from the supplement.
If you're very ill, pregnant, nursing, or taking any medications, talk it over with your doctor or pharmacist before starting.

Recovery SAP by NFH Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Recovery SAP by NFH contains multiple probiotic strains, and four of them—Bifidobacterium breve, Bifidobacterium longum, Lactobacillus helveticus, and Lactobacillus delbrueckii—interact with antibiotic drugs.
The most serious concern is a Moderate-severity interaction: taking any of these strains while on antibiotics might reduce how well the probiotics work, because antibiotics can kill the live organisms in the supplement.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
The way to manage this is straightforward: space out your doses. Take your antibiotic at one time of day and the probiotic several hours apart—your doctor or pharmacist can help you time them.
This is especially important if you're on antibiotics, since the two don't play well together if taken at the same time.
We were unable to check six of the product's probiotic strains (Lactobacillus paracasei HA-196, Bifidobacterium infantis R0033, Streptococcus salivarius ssp. thermophilus R0083, Lactobacillus rhamnosus R0011, Lactobacillus plantarum R1012, Lactobacillus casei R0215, and Bifidobacterium Bifidus R0071) because we hold no interaction data for them. Altogether, these interactions span 182 individual medications.
