What’s inside
Full disclosure
UBQH 100 mg is a single-ingredient supplement containing Coenzyme Q10 in its ubiquinol form (branded as Q+ from Kaneka). Each softgel capsule delivers 100 mg.
Coenzyme Q10 is a compound your body produces naturally and uses in cell energy production and as an antioxidant. The remaining ingredients are inert carriers and capsule materials—canola oil, gelatin, glycerin, beeswax, purified water, sunflower lecithin, and caramel—that help deliver the active ingredient.
Does it work?
Strong evidence
The evidence on Coenzyme Q10 varies by condition. It's rated likely effective for replacing Coenzyme Q10 when your body is deficient.
For fibromyalgia, migraine headaches, congestive heart failure, and diabetic neuropathy (nerve damage from diabetes), the evidence is rated possibly effective—meaning there's some clinical support, but it's not conclusive. The data we hold doesn't establish effectiveness ratings for other uses.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Coenzyme Q10 is generally well tolerated by most adults at the dose you're taking. In clinical trials, no serious adverse effects have been reported.
The most common side effects are mild gastrointestinal issues—such as appetite suppression, diarrhea, heartburn, nausea, and vomiting—occurring in less than 1% of people. Headache, dizziness, and insomnia have also been reported.
Skin itching and allergic rash are rare. Pregnancy safety data isn't available, so it's best to avoid this product during pregnancy unless your doctor advises otherwise.
Breastfeeding safety hasn't been well studied either; use caution and check with your doctor.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before you start UBQH, check with us if you take warfarin (Coumadin) or other blood thinners—this product could reduce their effectiveness. Also double-check if you're on chemotherapy drugs, especially alkylating agents, or blood pressure medications.
Altogether, these interactions span 196 individual medications.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with strong clinical evidence behind its ingredients' uses. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Coenzyme Q10 may help if you're deficient or dealing with heart conditions, migraines, or fibromyalgia—but if you take warfarin, chemotherapy, or blood pressure medication, you need to check with your pharmacist first. It's otherwise well tolerated with minor GI risks at standard doses.

UBQH 100 mg by Integrative Therapeutics Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
UBQH 100 mg by Integrative Therapeutics contains one active ingredient—Coenzyme Q10 (ubiquinol)—that interacts with several medication types.
The most serious concern is with blood thinners like warfarin (Coumadin). Coenzyme Q10 has a chemical structure similar to vitamin K, which can reduce how well warfarin prevents blood clots.
Four cases of decreased warfarin effectiveness linked to Coenzyme Q10 have been reported.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Coenzyme Q10 may also interfere with certain chemotherapy drugs, particularly alkylating agents like cyclophosphamide. Because Coenzyme Q10 has antioxidant properties, it could theoretically reduce the activity of chemotherapy drugs that rely on creating free radicals to kill cancer cells.
There's also a minor interaction risk with blood pressure medications (antihypertensives). Since Coenzyme Q10 may lower blood pressure on its own, combining it with blood pressure drugs could add up and lower your pressure more than intended, though study results have been mixed.
Additionally, we could not check the interactions in our current data for any other inactive ingredients that may have been listed. Use the medication checker on this page to verify your exact prescriptions against this product before you start.

Q+, Kaneka Ubiquinol
Alkylating Agents
Coenzyme Q10 has antioxidant effects. Theoretically, this may reduce the activity of chemotherapy drugs that generate free radicals.
Theoretically, antioxidants such as coenzyme Q10 might protect tumor cells from chemotherapeutic agents that work by inducing oxidative stress, such as alkylating agents (e.g., cyclophosphamide) and radiation therapy. The clinical importance of this interaction is unknown.
Warfarin (Coumadin)
Coenzyme Q10 is chemically similar to menaquinone and might have vitamin K-like procoagulant effects, which could decrease the effects of warfarin.
Concomitant use of coenzyme Q10 and warfarin might reduce the anticoagulant effects of warfarin. Four cases of decreased warfarin efficacy thought to be due to coenzyme Q10 have been reported. However, there is some preliminary clinical research that suggests coenzyme Q10 might not significantly decrease the effects of warfarin in patients who have a stable INR.
Antihypertensive Drugs
Theoretically, coenzyme Q10 might have additive effects with antihypertensive drugs.
Some clinical research shows that coenzyme Q10 can significantly lower blood pressure, although other studies have shown conflicting results.
