Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: Coenzyme Q-10 (CoQ-10), a compound your cells make naturally to power energy production and protect themselves from damage. The capsule itself is made from vegetable cellulose and includes microcrystalline cellulose, silica, and vegetable magnesium stearate as inactive ingredients to hold it together.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
CoQ-10 is rated likely effective for CoQ-10 deficiency — situations where your body isn't making or absorbing enough on its own. It's rated possibly effective for fibromyalgia, migraine headache, congestive heart failure, and diabetic neuropathy (nerve damage from diabetes), meaning there's some clinical evidence but it's not conclusive yet.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
CoQ-10 is generally well tolerated by most adults. Gastrointestinal side effects — appetite loss, diarrhea, heartburn, nausea — occur in less than 1% of users.
Headache, dizziness, and insomnia have been reported occasionally. Skin itching and allergic rash are rare.
The data on safety during pregnancy isn't sufficient — there's not enough reliable information to know either way, so talk with your doctor or pharmacist for personalized advice. The same goes for breastfeeding — safety hasn't been well studied.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Check before taking this if you're on warfarin or other blood thinners (Moderate risk), alkylating chemotherapy drugs like cyclophosphamide (Moderate risk), or any blood pressure medications (Minor risk). These are the drug types with documented interactions — your exact medications may or may not be affected, so use the search tool on this page.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
CoQ-10 may help if you have a documented deficiency or are exploring support for heart function, migraines, or diabetic nerve pain. If you're on warfarin, chemotherapy, or blood pressure meds, check with us before starting — the interactions matter.
Most people tolerate it well, but your pharmacist can make sure it fits your situation.

Vegetarian CoQ-10 30 mg by Solgar Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Solgar's Vegetarian CoQ-10 has documented interactions with three main medication categories.
The most serious concern is with blood thinners like warfarin (Coumadin). CoQ-10 is chemically similar to vitamin K and may work against warfarin's blood-thinning effects — four cases of reduced warfarin effectiveness tied to CoQ-10 have been reported in the literature.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Chemotherapy drugs called alkylating agents (like cyclophosphamide) are also flagged. CoQ-10's antioxidant properties might theoretically shield tumor cells from these medications, reducing how well they work.
Blood pressure medications warrant a Minor-level caution: CoQ-10 may add to their effect, so your pressure could drop lower than intended.
Altogether, these interactions span 196 individual medications. If you take warfarin, chemotherapy, or any blood pressure medication, run them through the checker on this page before you start.

For each ingredient in Vegetarian CoQ-10 30 mg with known interactions, here are the types of medications it can affect. Open any type for the detail — or search your exact drug in the checker above.
Coenzyme Q-10
Alkylating Agents
Coenzyme Q10 has antioxidant effects. Theoretically, this may reduce the activity of chemotherapy drugs that generate free radicals.
Theoretically, antioxidants such as coenzyme Q10 might protect tumor cells from chemotherapeutic agents that work by inducing oxidative stress, such as alkylating agents (e.g., cyclophosphamide) and radiation therapy. The clinical importance of this interaction is unknown.
Warfarin (Coumadin)
Coenzyme Q10 is chemically similar to menaquinone and might have vitamin K-like procoagulant effects, which could decrease the effects of warfarin.
Concomitant use of coenzyme Q10 and warfarin might reduce the anticoagulant effects of warfarin. Four cases of decreased warfarin efficacy thought to be due to coenzyme Q10 have been reported. However, there is some preliminary clinical research that suggests coenzyme Q10 might not significantly decrease the effects of warfarin in patients who have a stable INR.
Antihypertensive Drugs
Theoretically, coenzyme Q10 might have additive effects with antihypertensive drugs.
Some clinical research shows that coenzyme Q10 can significantly lower blood pressure, although other studies have shown conflicting results.
