Rabeprazole falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Acacia Rigidula interacts with.

Theoretically, Acacia rigidula products that are adulterated with beta-methylphenylethylamine (BMPEA) might increase the levels of CYP3A4 substrates.
In vitro research shows that BMPEA, an adulterant found in many Acacia rigidula products, inhibits CYP3A4 enzyme by 37%.

Here's the gist for rabeprazole (Pariet). Some Acacia rigidula products have been found spiked with a hidden stimulant called BMPEA, and lab tests (not human studies) suggest BMPEA can partly block the CYP3A4 enzyme. Rabeprazole is cleared mostly through other pathways, but a portion does pass through CYP3A4. If that enzyme slows down, rabeprazole could in theory linger a little longer and you might notice more of its usual side effects, like headache, nausea, or stomach upset.

Honestly, the bigger worry here is the hidden stimulant itself, not the acid pill. This concern is only theoretical and based on test-tube work, so don't panic. Still, I'd skip Acacia rigidula and check with your pharmacist before trying any product like this.

About Rabeprazole

What Is Rabeprazole Used For?

Rabeprazole delayed-release tablets treat a range of acid-related conditions in adults, including healing and maintenance of erosive or ulcerative GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease), symptomatic GERD, duodenal ulcers, and pathological hypersecretory conditions such as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. They are also used alongside antibiotics (amoxicillin and clarithromycin) to eradicate H. pylori bacteria and reduce the risk of duodenal ulcer coming back.

In adolescents 12 years and older, rabeprazole delayed-release tablets are approved for short-term treatment of symptomatic GERD. Both AcipHex and Rabeprazole Sodium delayed-release tablets share this indication set for adults and adolescents 12 and older.
