These two interact in 2 distinct ways. Each one is explained separately below.
Why Are There 2 Interactions?
African Wild Potato interacts with whole categories of medication. Omeprazole, Sodium Bicarbonate falls into 2 of those categories, so it can interact with African Wild Potato in 2 different ways. We’ve listed each one below — your overall risk is driven by the most serious of them (Moderate).
CYTOCHROME P450 2C9 (CYP2C9) SUBSTRATES
1 of 2Why this applies to Omeprazole, Sodium Bicarbonate
Omeprazole, Sodium Bicarbonate falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2C9 (CYP2C9) SUBSTRATES — the group African Wild Potato interacts with.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist with Konvomep (omeprazole plus sodium bicarbonate). Lab studies suggest African Wild Potato may block an enzyme called CYP2C9. Omeprazole is broken down partly by CYP2C9 (and mostly by a related enzyme, CYP2C19). If that pathway slows down, a bit more omeprazole could linger in your system. In practice, that usually just means a slightly stronger drug effect, and omeprazole is generally well tolerated. Possible nuisance effects include headache, nausea, gas, or loose stools.
Honestly, this is theoretical and comes only from test-tube research, not from people, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it. The bigger caution is that the supplement itself isn't well studied for safety. Before combining them, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor.

CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES
2 of 2Omeprazole, Sodium Bicarbonate also falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist with Konvomep (omeprazole plus sodium bicarbonate). In lab dishes, African wild potato slowed down a liver enzyme called CYP3A4, which is one of the enzymes your body uses to clear omeprazole. If that slowdown happened in real life, omeprazole could build up a bit, which might mean slightly stronger effects or more side effects like headache, nausea, or stomach upset.
The thing to keep in mind is that this is only test-tube evidence, not proven in people. In fact, when studied in humans with a similar drug, the supplement didn't change drug levels much. Omeprazole is also mostly handled by a different enzyme (CYP2C19), so any real effect is likely small. Still, since the safety of this supplement isn't well known, please check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.
