“Orally, flatulence and bulkier feces were reported during the first week of a case series of three subjects ingesting alfalfa. In a case series of 15 patients ingesting alfalfa, increased fecal volume and increased stool frequency was reported. Additional adverse effects included abdominal discomfort in two patients, diarrhea in two patients, loose stools in six patients, and intestinal gas in 13 patients.”

What Is Methoxy Polyethylene Glycol-Epoetin Beta Injection Used For?

Brand names: Recormon, Mircera

Mircera is used to treat anemia associated with chronic kidney disease (CKD) in adult patients, whether or not they are on dialysis. It is also approved for pediatric patients aged 3 months to 17 years who are on dialysis or not on dialysis, but only when they are converting from another ESA after their hemoglobin level has already been stabilized.

Mircera is not indicated for anemia caused by cancer chemotherapy, and it is not a substitute for red blood cell (RBC) transfusions when anemia needs to be corrected immediately. It has not been shown to improve symptoms, fatigue, or quality of life.
