Here's the idea behind this one. Prednisolone is often used to calm down or quiet an overactive immune system, whether that's for arthritis, asthma flares, certain skin or bowel conditions, or to protect a transplanted organ. Alfalfa, on the other hand, may gently stimulate the immune system. So in theory, taking the two together could work against your prednisolone and make it a little less effective, meaning your symptoms (swelling, pain, flares, or rejection risk) might not stay as well controlled.

I want to be honest about the evidence though. This concern comes from lab studies and a few case reports, not strong human trials, so it's more theoretical than proven. Still, if you're relying on prednisolone for something serious like a transplant or an autoimmune disease, I'd skip the alfalfa supplement and check with your pharmacist or doctor first.

Prednisolone is prescribed for many different conditions where inflammation or an overactive immune system is causing harm. These range from severe allergic reactions and asthma to certain skin diseases, blood disorders, eye problems, and some cancers.

It is also used to support the body when the adrenal glands aren't making enough of their own steroids, and to manage flares of conditions like ulcerative colitis, multiple sclerosis, and nephrotic syndrome (a kidney condition causing protein loss in the urine).
