Here's the gist of this one: doxepin can already make your skin a little more sensitive to sunlight, meaning you might burn faster or get a rash with less sun than usual. Alfalfa, at least in animal studies using large amounts, may do something similar, possibly because of its chlorophyll content. Put them together and the worry is that those sun-sensitizing effects could simply add up.

I want to be honest about the strength of this, though. It's a theoretical concern based on pharmacology and animal data, not proven in people, so don't panic. The bigger takeaway is just to be a bit careful: use sunscreen, cover up, and check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding concentrated alfalfa supplements. Food amounts in a salad are very unlikely to matter.
