Here's the thing to know about pairing alfalfa with Tussionex (the hydrocodone and chlorpheniramine combo cough syrup): this particular concern isn't about your liver enzymes or how the medicine is broken down. It's about your skin and sunlight. Some medicines, including certain cough and allergy products, can make you a little more prone to sunburn, and alfalfa, thanks to its chlorophyll, may add to that in theory.

I want to be honest with you, though: this is very much a theoretical idea, based mostly on animal studies using large doses. It's unclear whether it matters in real people at all. To be safe, use sunscreen and limit harsh midday sun. Any other questions, your pharmacist is happy to help.
