Apple + Chlorpropamide
Chlorpropamide brand names: Diabinese, Chlorpropam.
Apple has a moderate interaction with Chlorpropamide. Theoretically, consuming apple juice with antidiabetes drugs might interfere with blood glucose control.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
ANTIDIABETES DRUGS
Why this applies to Chlorpropamide
Chlorpropamide falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Apple interacts with.
Clinical research suggests that consuming apples or drinking apple juice can raise blood glucose levels, with the effects of drinking apple juice being more significant than consuming apples.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the simple version: chlorpropamide (Diabinese) works to bring your blood sugar down by nudging your pancreas to release more insulin. Apples and especially apple juice can push blood sugar in the opposite direction, mostly because juice is a concentrated source of natural sugar without much of the fiber found in a whole apple. So in theory, drinking a lot of apple juice could partly work against your medication and make your numbers harder to control.
I want to be honest that this is a theoretical concern based on how things work, not strong proof. A whole apple eaten as part of a meal is generally fine and far less of an issue than glasses of juice. The real key is consistency in your diet and checking your blood sugar. If you notice higher readings, chat with your pharmacist or doctor rather than changing anything yourself.

About Apple
What is Apple?
- General nutrition and fiber intake
- Heart and cholesterol health
- Blood sugar and weight management
- Digestive regularity
- Antioxidant support
Apples are a nutritious whole food that provides fiber, vitamins, and antioxidant plant compounds, and eating them regularly fits well into a healthy diet. While research suggests apples may support heart and digestive health, most claims about concentrated apple supplements or extracts are not strongly proven, so enjoy apples as food and talk with your pharmacist before using high-dose products.

Chlorpropamide Is Linked to Lower Levels of One Nutrient
Natural Medicines records Chlorpropamide as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Apple — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
