Arabinoxylan + Ezetimibe
Ezetimibe brand name: Zetia.
We found no known interaction between Arabinoxylan and Ezetimibe in our sources. Absence of a documented interaction is not the same as proven safety, and does not guarantee one does not exist. Do not start, stop, or change a medication or supplement based on this page; confirm with your pharmacist or doctor first. Additionally, although there is no interaction, the two are separately associated with some of the same side effects, which would make a new symptom harder to attribute to one or the other.
Arabinoxylan and Ezetimibe
We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.
No Known Interaction Found
We did not find a documented interaction between Ezetimibe and Arabinoxylan in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — there is often limited research on supplements and herbal products, especially around drug interactions.
If you decide to take both, the practical routine is simple: add one new thing at a time and note the date you started it. If the combination is going to disagree with you, it usually shows in the first days to a couple of weeks — and a start date turns “I’ve been feeling off” into something a pharmacist can actually work with. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.
Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

Safety guidance is general; always confirm with your pharmacist or doctor for your situation.
Why No Interaction Is Listed for Ezetimibe
Interactions in our licensed database are recorded against drug classes, not just single drug names. Ezetimibe is filed under 2 classifications — including oral drugs. Arabinoxylan has documented interactions with 1 drug class — the most serious being antidiabetes drugs (moderate) — and none of Ezetimibe’s classifications are among them.
Classification data comes from our licensed Natural Medicines dataset. A medication can belong to classes beyond those recorded there, so this describes how the check was run — it is not a safety guarantee.

Questions About Arabinoxylan or Ezetimibe
These are real questions from readers, answered by the pharmacists at HelloPharmacist — written by a person, not generated from a database. Each one covers Arabinoxylan or Ezetimibe, not necessarily both, but if one is close to what you were about to ask it will usually go further than a database entry can:

See Every Supplement That Interacts With Ezetimibe
This page covers Arabinoxylan only. If you take other supplements — a multivitamin, a sleep aid, something for joints — the Ezetimibe page lists 18 supplements it has a documented interaction with, worst first, each one explained.
The most serious there right now: Activated Charcoal (major), Coffee Charcoal (moderate), European Mandrake (moderate), Flaxseed Oil (moderate) and Glucomannan (moderate).
By severity: 1 major · 8 moderate · 9 minor.
From our pharmacist’s overview on the Ezetimibe page
“Almost everything that interacts with ezetimibe (Zetia) works in the gut, and one entry calls for genuine care. Activated charcoal can soak up the drug before your body gets it, which for a cholesterol pill means quietly losing the protection you count on.”

- What “no known interaction” means: no documented interaction in the sources above — not a guarantee of safety. Supplements are studied far less than prescription drugs, so we say exactly what the evidence supports, and nothing more.
About Arabinoxylan
What is Arabinoxylan?
- Blood sugar support
- Digestive and gut health (prebiotic)
- Cholesterol and triglyceride support
- Immune support
- Metabolic syndrome
Arabinoxylan is a type of dietary fiber found in cereal grains that acts as a prebiotic and may modestly affect blood sugar and blood fats. The evidence for most uses is early and limited, so it should not replace proven treatments. If you are considering it, talk with your pharmacist or doctor first.
Fiber extracted from the cell walls of cereal grains (such as wheat bran, rice bran, corn, rye, oat, and barley) · Powder, capsules, and a modified rice-bran product known as MGN-3 (Biobran)
An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Arabinoxylan is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Arabinoxylan record says about it on its own.
Arabinoxylan: dosing
There is no official or standardized dose of arabinoxylan, and amounts used in studies have varied widely depending on the product and the goal. The best approach is to follow the directions on the specific product label and to start low and increase slowly to limit gas and bloating.

About Ezetimibe
What Is Ezetimibe Used For?
Brand name: Zetia
Ezetimibe is used alongside a cholesterol-lowering diet to reduce LDL ("bad") cholesterol, total cholesterol, and related blood fats. It can be used alone or combined with a statin or fenofibrate depending on the condition being treated.
Zetia (a brand of ezetimibe) is specifically approved to lower LDL cholesterol in adults and children 10 and older with heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (an inherited high-cholesterol condition), in adults with mixed hyperlipidemia (combined high cholesterol and triglycerides) when combined with fenofibrate, and in adults and children 10 and older with homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (a severe inherited form). Ezetimibe tablets are also used to reduce elevated plant sterols (sitosterol and campesterol) in adults and children 9 and older with homozygous familial sitosterolemia, a rare inherited condition.
