Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CYTOCHROME P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Flutamide
Flutamide falls under CYTOCHROME P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) SUBSTRATES — the group Ashitaba interacts with.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist for your prostate cancer medicine, flutamide. Your body relies on a liver enzyme called CYP1A2 to help break it down. In lab studies, ashitaba appears to slow that same enzyme down. In theory, that could mean flutamide hangs around a little longer than usual, which might nudge up its effects and side effects, things like liver irritation, diarrhea, nausea, or hot flashes.
The important part: this is only a theoretical concern from test-tube research, and it has never actually been reported in people. Eating ashitaba as a vegetable is unlikely to matter much. Concentrated supplements are the bigger question mark. Since flutamide can already affect the liver, please run any ashitaba supplement past your oncologist or pharmacist first.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Flutamide page
“A man taking flutamide (Eulexin) to block testosterone during prostate cancer treatment cannot afford big swings in the drug's level, and most of the 189 supplements on this page are capable of causing exactly that. The bulk of them work through the liver enzyme CYP3A4, which breaks flutamide down.”
