Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CYTOCHROME P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Ramelteon
Ramelteon falls under CYTOCHROME P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) SUBSTRATES — the group Ashitaba interacts with.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the situation with Rozerem and ashitaba. Your body relies on a liver enzyme called CYP1A2 to break down ramelteon and remove it. In lab tests, the chalcone compounds in ashitaba can slow that enzyme down. If that happens in real life, ramelteon could clear out more slowly and build up a bit, which might make its effects stronger than expected. For a sleep aid, that could mean feeling more drowsy or groggy, lingering sleepiness the next morning, or feeling dizzy when you get up.
I'll be honest though, this is only a theoretical concern from test-tube studies, and it hasn't actually been seen in people. Eating ashitaba as a vegetable is unlikely to matter much. Before adding a concentrated supplement, just check with your pharmacist or doctor.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Ramelteon page
“Ramelteon (Rozerem) is a prescription sleep aid, and its 228 interacting supplements call for real care, starting with the nine rated major. The frustrating part is that the things sleepless people typically reach for, kava, CBD, a glass of wine before bed, sit at the heart of the problem.”
