Tazemetostat Hydrobromide falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Atractylodes interacts with.

Theoretically, atractylodes might increase the levels of CYP3A4 substrates.
In animals, atractylodes administered at high doses has been shown to inhibit CYP3A1 activity, which is a homolog to the human CYP3A4 enzyme. This effect has not been shown in humans.

Here's the short version: your body relies on a liver enzyme called CYP3A4 to clear Tazverik (tazemetostat) out of your system. In animal studies, high doses of atractylodes appeared to slow down a similar enzyme. If that same effect happened in people, tazemetostat could build up a bit higher than expected, which in theory might mean more of its usual side effects, such as fatigue, nausea, low blood counts, or a higher infection risk.

That said, this is based only on lab and animal research, not real human data, so it's flagged as minor and unproven. Still, because this is a cancer medicine that's carefully dosed, I'd run any atractylodes-containing herbal product past your oncologist or pharmacist before adding it.

About Tazemetostat

What Is Tazemetostat Used For?

Brand name: Tazverik

Tazverik (tazemetostat) tablets are used to treat adults and patients aged 16 and older with metastatic or locally advanced epithelioid sarcoma (a rare soft-tissue cancer) that cannot be completely removed by surgery.

Tazverik is also used in adults with relapsed or refractory follicular lymphoma — meaning the lymphoma has come back or stopped responding to treatment — either when the tumor carries a specific EZH2 gene mutation (confirmed by an FDA-approved test) after at least two prior treatments, or when there are no other satisfactory treatment options. Both uses were approved based on response rates, and continued approval may depend on results from ongoing confirmatory studies.
