Piroxicam falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Atractylodes interacts with.

Theoretically, atractylodes might increase the risk of bleeding when used concomitantly with anticoagulant and antiplatelet drugs.
Laboratory research suggests that atractylenolides II and III, constituents of atractylodes, reduce platelet activation. So far, this has not been shown in humans.

Here's the connection worth knowing about. Piroxicam is an NSAID, and like other drugs in that family it can thin your blood a little and irritate the stomach lining, which already raises the chance of bruising or bleeding. Lab studies hint that certain compounds in atractylodes (atractylenolides) may make platelets less sticky too. Stack those two effects and, in theory, you could see a bit more bruising, nosebleeds, or stomach upset.

I want to be honest about the strength here: this is only test-tube and animal data, and it has not been shown in real people. So it's a maybe, not a sure thing. Still, since piroxicam is already tough on the gut, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them, especially if you notice any unusual bleeding.
