Insulin Lispro-Aabc falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Ba Ji Tian interacts with.

Animal research shows that taking ba ji tian extracts might increase or decrease blood glucose levels. Theoretically ba ji tian might have additive effects or attenuate the effects antidiabetes drugs. Monitor blood glucose levels closely; dose adjustments of antidiabetes drugs might be necessary. Some antidiabetes drugs include glimepiride (Amaryl), glyburide (DiaBeta, Glynase PresTab, Micronase), insulin, metformin (Glucophage), pioglitazone (Actos), rosiglitazone (Avandia), and others.

Lyumjev (insulin lispro-aabc) is a fast-acting mealtime insulin that lowers your blood sugar after you eat. Here's the wrinkle with Ba Ji Tian: in animal studies, this root has pushed blood sugar in both directions, sometimes lowering it and sometimes raising it. So we can't say with confidence which way it would tip your numbers.

The honest truth is this is theoretical, based on lab and animal work, not solid human studies. Still, with insulin even small shifts matter. If the root nudges your sugar down on top of your insulin, you could see hypoglycemia (shakiness, sweating, confusion). If it works the other way, your insulin may seem less effective. If you take Ba Ji Tian, check your sugars more closely and loop in your doctor or pharmacist before adding it.
