Evidence from animal research suggests that babassu has antithrombotic effects. Theoretically, babassu might increase the risk of bleeding when used with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs. Some anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs include aspirin, clopidogrel (Plavix), dalteparin (Fragmin), enoxaparin (Lovenox), heparin, ticlopidine (Ticlid), warfarin (Coumadin), and others.

Here's the gist with ketoprofen and babassu. Ketoprofen is an NSAID, and like aspirin and ibuprofen, it already nudges your blood toward easier bleeding by quieting the platelets that help you clot. In early lab and animal work, babassu also seemed to slow clotting a bit. So the worry is that stacking the two could add up and make bleeding more likely.

In real life, that might look like easy bruising, nosebleeds, a stomach bleed (dark or tarry stools), or cuts that take longer to stop. I'll be honest, though: this is theoretical and based only on animal studies, so we don't have human proof it actually happens. Still, since both can affect bleeding, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them, especially if you also take blood thinners.

What Is Ketoprofen Used For?

Brand names: Orudis, Oruvail Gel, Powergel, Oruvail Injection

Ketoprofen capsules (including the Orudis brand) are approved for rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, general pain management, and primary dysmenorrhea (painful menstrual periods). Ketoprofen extended-release capsules are approved for rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis only — they are not recommended for acute pain because of their slow-release design.

Regardless of formulation, the goal is always to use the lowest effective dose for the shortest time needed.
