Lotensin HCT pairs benazepril, a blood pressure pill, with hydrochlorothiazide, a water pill. Both already work to bring your blood pressure down. The thing to know here is that banaba may also gently lower blood pressure on its own, based on some human and animal research. So when you stack them together, the effects can add up.

In real life, that could mean your blood pressure dips lower than expected. Watch for dizziness, lightheadedness when you stand up, unusual tiredness, or feeling faint. This is a moderate, likely interaction but the evidence is still on the lower-quality side, so it is not a reason to panic. Please loop in your pharmacist or doctor before adding banaba, and keep checking your blood pressure at home.
