Prestalia is a two-in-one blood pressure pill. It pairs perindopril (an ACE inhibitor) with amlodipine (a calcium channel blocker), and together they relax your blood vessels to bring your numbers down. The idea here is simple: basil may also nudge blood pressure a little lower, so stacking it on top of your medicine could add up.

Keep this in perspective. This concern comes only from animal and lab studies, not from people, so it's more theoretical than proven. Cooking with basil in your food is very unlikely to cause any problem. Concentrated basil supplements or essential oils are a different story and harder to predict. If you go that route, watch for signs your pressure dropped too far (dizziness, lightheadedness when standing, or feeling faint) and check with your pharmacist or doctor first.
