Beta-methylphenethylamine (bmpea) + Chlorpheniramine, Methscopolamine, Phenylephrine
Chlorpheniramine, Methscopolamine, Phenylephrine brand names: DA II, Extendryl JR, Dallergy, Extendryl SR, Extendryl Chews, and others.
Chlorpheniramine, Methscopolamine, Phenylephrine falls into 2 drug categories that Beta-methylphenethylamine (bmpea) can interact with; the most serious is rated moderate. Theoretically, BMPEA might increase the levels and clinical effects of CYP3A4 substrates.

These two interact in 2 distinct ways. Each one is explained separately below.
Why Are There 2 Interactions?
Beta-methylphenethylamine (bmpea) interacts with whole categories of medication. Chlorpheniramine, Methscopolamine, Phenylephrine falls into 2 of those categories, so it can interact with Beta-methylphenethylamine (bmpea) in 2 different ways. We’ve listed each one below — your overall risk is driven by the most serious of them (Moderate).
CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES
1 of 2Why this applies to Chlorpheniramine, Methscopolamine, Phenylephrine
Chlorpheniramine, Methscopolamine, Phenylephrine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Beta-methylphenethylamine (bmpea) interacts with.
In vitro research shows that BMPEA inhibits CYP3A4 by up to 37%.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
This combination product mixes an antihistamine (chlorpheniramine), a drying agent (methscopolamine), and a decongestant (phenylephrine). Lab tests suggest BMPEA may block a liver enzyme called CYP3A4 by a little over a third. In theory, slowing that enzyme could let some of these ingredients build up in your body, which might make the usual side effects stronger: more drowsiness, dry mouth, blurred vision, constipation, trouble urinating, and a faster or pounding heartbeat.
Here's the bigger concern, though. BMPEA itself is a stimulant similar to amphetamine, and phenylephrine already raises blood pressure. Stacking two stimulant-type effects could push your heart rate and blood pressure higher. The enzyme link is only theoretical (based on lab data, not people), but BMPEA is unapproved and best avoided. Please run this by your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

STIMULANT DRUGS
2 of 2Chlorpheniramine, Methscopolamine, Phenylephrine also falls under STIMULANT DRUGS.
BMPEA is thought to have stimulant effects, including cardiovascular effects such as hypertension, tachycardia, and cardiac arrest.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the piece that matters with this combo product: it contains phenylephrine, which is a decongestant that already nudges up your blood pressure and can tighten blood vessels. BMPEA is a stimulant in the amphetamine family, so it can do the same kind of thing, raise heart rate and blood pressure. Stacking two stimulant-type ingredients can add up.
If you took them together, the realistic worry is feeling jittery, a racing or pounding heartbeat, higher blood pressure, headache, or trouble sleeping. To be fair, this concern is theoretical, based on how these compounds behave rather than solid human studies. BMPEA itself isn't a vetted supplement ingredient, so I'd steer clear of it. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before mixing them.

What These Ratings Mean
Every interaction above is graded three ways — here’s the key to each label.
Clinically significant. Avoid the combination, or use only under close professional supervision.
Usually worth avoiding or managing — may need monitoring, a dose change, or timing apart.
Generally not serious. Be aware of it and mention it to your pharmacist.

About Beta-methylphenethylamine (bmpea)
What is Beta-methylphenethylamine (bmpea)?
- Weight loss
- Pre-workout energy
- Athletic performance
- Appetite suppression
- Mental focus
Beta-methylphenethylamine (BMPEA) is a synthetic stimulant chemically similar to amphetamine that has been found in some weight-loss and sports supplements, often without being clearly listed on the label. It is not an approved or well-studied dietary ingredient, and regulators have warned that it may carry real cardiovascular risks. Because of safety concerns and the lack of human research, it is best avoided.
