Oliceridine (Olinvyk) is a strong IV opioid painkiller, and your body relies partly on an enzyme called CYP2D6 to clear it. Lab studies suggest BMPEA can block that enzyme. If it does, oliceridine could build up in your system and hit harder than expected. With an opioid, that means a bigger risk of things like heavy drowsiness, confusion, very low blood pressure, and slowed or shallow breathing, which can be dangerous.

Keep in mind this warning is theoretical, based on test-tube data rather than real patients. On top of that, BMPEA is an unapproved amphetamine-like stimulant that's best avoided on its own. Since oliceridine is given in hospital settings, please let your care team know about any supplements before they dose you.

Here's the gist for Olinvyk (oliceridine), which is a strong IV opioid painkiller given in hospitals. Your liver uses an enzyme called CYP3A4 to help break it down and clear it out. BMPEA has been shown in lab dishes to slow that enzyme down by roughly a third. If that slowdown happened in a real person, oliceridine could build up and hit harder than expected, meaning more drowsiness, slowed or shallow breathing, low blood pressure, and confusion.

I want to be honest: this is theoretical, based only on test-tube data, not real human studies. On top of that, BMPEA is an unapproved amphetamine-like stimulant that's best avoided on its own. What Is Oliceridine Injection Used For?

Brand name: Olinvyk

Olinvyk (oliceridine) injection is approved for adults to manage acute pain that is severe enough to require an intravenous opioid analgesic. It is used only when alternative treatments are ineffective, not tolerated, or otherwise unable to provide adequate pain control.

Because of serious risks including addiction, misuse, overdose, and death, Olinvyk is reserved for situations where other pain management options are not sufficient. It is not intended for routine or chronic pain management.
