Biofeedback + Vincristine
Vincristine brand name: Vincasar.
Biofeedback has a moderate interaction with Vincristine. There is some concern that electroencephalogram (EEG) biofeedback might lower the seizure threshold in some patients.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
SEIZURE THRESHOLD LOWERING DRUGS
Why this applies to Vincristine
Vincristine falls under SEIZURE THRESHOLD LOWERING DRUGS — the group Biofeedback interacts with.
Some drugs that lower the seizure threshold include anesthetics (propofol, others), antiarrhythmics (mexiletine), antibiotics (amphotericin, penicillin, cephalosporins, imipenem), antidepressants (bupropion, others), antihistamines (cyproheptadine, others), immunosuppressants (cyclosporine), narcotics (fentanyl, others), stimulants (methylphenidate), theophylline, and others.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Let me put this one in plain terms. The concern here is not about how your body breaks down vincristine. Instead, it is about seizures. Vincristine can, in some people, make the brain a little more prone to seizures (a lowered seizure threshold), and one type of biofeedback (EEG or neurofeedback) has also been linked to lowering that threshold in certain patients. Put the two together and, in theory, the seizure risk could add up.
I want to be honest that this is a theoretical worry based on limited evidence, not something proven to happen often. Most relaxation-style biofeedback is very gentle. Still, since you are on chemotherapy, please mention any biofeedback plan to your oncology team first so they can guide you.

What These Ratings Mean
Every interaction above is graded three ways — here’s the key to each label.
Clinically significant. Avoid the combination, or use only under close professional supervision.
Usually worth avoiding or managing — may need monitoring, a dose change, or timing apart.
Generally not serious. Be aware of it and mention it to your pharmacist.
- LikelyWell-controlled human studies have demonstrated the likely existence of this interaction.
- ProbableInteraction has not been documented in well-controlled studies, however, the interaction has been demonstrated in some small human studies or in controlled animal studies in conjunction with multiple case reports.
- PossibleInteraction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
- UnlikelyInteraction has been demonstrated in animal or in lab research but has been shown not to occur in humans.
- AHigh-quality meta-analysis (quantitative systematic review).
- BCase-control study.
- CConsensus.
- DAnecdotal evidence.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Vincristine page
“Because vincristine (Vincasar) is chemotherapy, used against leukemias, lymphomas, and several other cancers, the interactions on this page deserve genuine caution, starting with the three rated major. Nearly all of these supplements change how the body clears vincristine, through the CYP3A4 enzyme or the P-glycoprotein transporter, wh…”

About Biofeedback
What is Biofeedback?
- Chronic pain
- Headaches and migraines
- Anxiety and stress
- High blood pressure
- Urinary incontinence
- Tension and muscle relaxation
Biofeedback is a mind-body technique, not an herb or supplement. It uses sensors to show you real-time information about body functions like heart rate, muscle tension, or skin temperature so you can learn to control them. It is generally very safe and has reasonable evidence for headaches, certain pain conditions, and pelvic floor problems, but it works best alongside standard medical care.
About Vincristine Injection
What Is Vincristine Injection Used For?
Brand name: Vincasar

It is also used together with other cancer medicines for Hodgkin's disease, non-Hodgkin's malignant lymphomas, rhabdomyosarcoma, neuroblastoma and Wilms' tumor.
