Bitter Orange + Oxycodone
Oxycodone brand names: OxyContin, Roxicodone, OxyIR, Percolone, Oxecta, and others.
Bitter Orange has a minor interaction with Oxycodone. Theoretically, bitter orange might increase levels of drug metabolized by CYP2D6.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Oxycodone
Oxycodone falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES — the group Bitter Orange interacts with.
In vitro research shows that octopamine, a constituent of bitter orange, weakly inhibits CYP2D6 enzymes. This effect has not been reported in humans.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist with bitter orange and oxycodone. Bitter orange contains octopamine, which in lab dishes appears to weakly block an enzyme called CYP2D6. Your body uses CYP2D6 to convert oxycodone into oxymorphone, a more potent active form. So in theory, blocking this enzyme could leave a bit less of that stronger byproduct, possibly nudging pain relief down a touch. But honestly, oxycodone also works through other pathways, so this is a small effect at best.
The bigger thing I'd flag: this interaction is purely test-tube data and has never been shown in real people, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it. That said, bitter orange is a stimulant, and stacking stimulants with an opioid is its own conversation. Please run it by your pharmacist or doctor first.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Oxycodone page
“Oxycodone is a potent opioid painkiller, and anything that deepens its sedation can slow breathing itself, which is why this list deserves genuine respect. Of the 145 supplement and herbal ingredients on record, eight rate major, and the biggest cluster by far, 78 ingredients, adds extra drowsiness on top of the opioid's own.”

About Bitter Orange
What is Bitter Orange?
- Weight loss
- Athletic performance and energy
- Digestive upset
- Appetite control
- Aromatherapy for stress (neroli oil)
Bitter orange is a citrus fruit whose extracts contain synephrine, a mild stimulant often added to weight-loss and energy supplements. Evidence that it works for weight loss or performance is limited, and because it can raise heart rate and blood pressure, people with heart problems, high blood pressure, or who are pregnant should avoid it. Talk to your pharmacist or doctor before using it, especially if you take other stimulants.
About Oxycodone
What Is Oxycodone Used For?
Brand names: OxyContin, Roxicodone, OxyIR, Percolone, Oxecta, OxyNeo
Oxycodone treats pain that is severe enough to need an opioid pain medicine, when other treatments are not enough. Other options include non-opioid pain relievers or opioid combination products.
Some products are for specific situations. Extended-release products (OxyContin, Xtampza ER, and oxycodone extended-release tablets) are for severe, persistent pain that needs daily, around-the-clock treatment. They are not for as-needed use. The 100 mg per 5 mL (20 mg/mL) oral solution is only for opioid-tolerant patients. Oxaydo is labeled for acute and chronic pain.
