Bitter Orange + Pindolol
Pindolol brand names: Visken, Pindol.
Bitter Orange has a minor interaction with Pindolol. Theoretically, bitter orange might increase levels of drug metabolized by CYP2D6.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Pindolol
Pindolol falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES — the group Bitter Orange interacts with.
In vitro research shows that octopamine, a constituent of bitter orange, weakly inhibits CYP2D6 enzymes. This effect has not been reported in humans.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist for pindolol. Your body partly clears this beta blocker using a liver enzyme called CYP2D6. In test-tube studies, a compound in bitter orange (octopamine) weakly slowed that same enzyme down. If that happened in a real person, pindolol could clear a little slower and build up slightly, which in theory might nudge its effects up: more slowing of the heart rate, lower blood pressure, or feeling lightheaded or tired.
Honestly, though, this is only lab-dish evidence and hasn't been shown in actual people, so it's a minor, theoretical concern. There's a bigger wrinkle: bitter orange itself is a stimulant that can raise heart rate and blood pressure, working against what pindolol is doing. Either way, check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Pindolol page
“People prescribed pindolol (Visken), a beta-blocker, are usually treating high blood pressure, and they are often the very people drawn to heart-friendly supplements like fish oil. That overlap is why this list of 183 ingredients deserves genuine care, starting with the five rated major.”

About Bitter Orange
What is Bitter Orange?
- Weight loss
- Athletic performance and energy
- Digestive upset
- Appetite control
- Aromatherapy for stress (neroli oil)
Bitter orange is a citrus fruit whose extracts contain synephrine, a mild stimulant often added to weight-loss and energy supplements. Evidence that it works for weight loss or performance is limited, and because it can raise heart rate and blood pressure, people with heart problems, high blood pressure, or who are pregnant should avoid it. Talk to your pharmacist or doctor before using it, especially if you take other stimulants.
About Pindolol
What Is Pindolol Used For?
Brand names: Visken, Pindol
Pindolol tablets are used to manage high blood pressure (hypertension).
It can be taken alone or with other blood pressure medicines. The label notes it is often paired with a thiazide-type diuretic (a water pill).

Pindolol Is Linked to Lower Levels of One Nutrient
Natural Medicines records Pindolol as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Bitter Orange — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
