Aggrenox is a combo of two blood thinners: aspirin and dipyridamole. Both work to keep your platelets from clumping together, which is exactly the job they're meant to do after a stroke or TIA. Here's the wrinkle with black currant: its seed oil contains GLA, a fatty acid that may have a mild platelet-slowing effect of its own. Stack that on top of Aggrenox, and in theory you could nudge your bleeding risk a little higher.

I want to be honest, though: this concern is theoretical, based on how GLA behaves in the lab, not on real patient reports. Eating black currant berries or jam is very unlikely to matter. Concentrated seed oil supplements are the question mark. Watch for easy bruising, nosebleeds, or bleeding gums, and check with your pharmacist before adding the oil.
