Oxaprozin falls under ORAL DRUGS — the group Blond Psyllium interacts with.

Theoretically, psyllium might increase, decrease, or have no effect on the absorption of oral drugs.
Psyllium seems to have variable effects on drug absorption. To avoid changes in absorption, take psyllium 30-60 minutes after oral medications. Animal research shows that blond psyllium delays and increases the absorption of metformin and ethinyl estradiol. Conversely, case reports and animal research suggest that blond psyllium might reduce absorption of lithium, digoxin, olanzapine, and carbamazepine. Finally, some pharmacokinetic studies show that psyllium does not affect the absorption of levothyroxine or warfarin.

Here's the practical takeaway: that thick, jelly-like fiber in psyllium can grab onto pills sitting in your gut and slow down or slightly change how much of them you absorb. With oxaprozin (Daypro), the worry is mostly the reverse of a problem, meaning psyllium could trap a little of the dose and possibly blunt how well it relieves your arthritis pain and stiffness. Honestly though, this is theoretical and based on weak evidence, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it.

An easy fix sidesteps the whole issue: take your oxaprozin first, then wait about 30 to 60 minutes before your psyllium. If your pain control ever feels off, mention it to your pharmacist or doctor rather than changing anything on your own.

Blond psyllium is a soluble fiber from the seed husks of Plantago ovata, and it is one of the better-studied fiber supplements. It can help with both constipation and diarrhea and may modestly lower cholesterol and blood sugar. Oxaprozin treats the signs and symptoms of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and juvenile rheumatoid arthritis — reducing joint pain, swelling, and stiffness. These uses are shared across available oral formulations, including Coxanto capsules, Oxaprozin capsules, and Oxaprozin tablets (including Daypro).

Juvenile rheumatoid arthritis dosing for children ages 6 to 16 is weight-based and has been studied with both the capsule and tablet formulations.
