Alogliptin falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Boswellia Serrata interacts with.

Theoretically, Boswellia serrata might increase or decrease the levels and clinical effects of CYP3A4 substrates.
In vitro research shows that Boswellia serrata gum resin inhibits CYP3A4 enzymes. Other in vitro research shows that Boswellia serrata extract inhibits CYP3A4 enzymes at most concentrations, although it may modestly induce enzyme activity at low concentrations.

Here's the good news about pairing boswellia with your alogliptin (Nesina): this concern is mostly theoretical. The worry comes from lab-dish studies suggesting boswellia might block an enzyme called CYP3A4, which can handle some medications. In theory, slowing that enzyme could let a CYP3A4 drug build up a bit more than usual.

For alogliptin specifically, I wouldn't lose much sleep over it. Alogliptin is mostly cleared by the kidneys unchanged and isn't heavily processed by CYP3A4, so this interaction is unlikely to cause a real problem. If anything shifted, you might watch for signs of low blood sugar like shakiness, sweating, or dizziness. Still, please run it by your pharmacist or doctor first, and keep checking your blood sugar as usual.
