Here's the gist: Metaglip combines two diabetes medicines, glipizide and metformin, and both work to lower your blood sugar. Brewer's yeast naturally contains chromium, which research suggests can nudge blood sugar down a little further. Stack that on top of your medication and your numbers could dip lower than expected, especially because glipizide already carries a real risk of hypoglycemia.

So watch for signs like shakiness, sweating, dizziness, a racing heart, or feeling suddenly hungry or confused. A small amount of brewer's yeast in food likely won't move the needle much, but taking it as a daily supplement is where it adds up. Don't change anything on your own. Just give your pharmacist or doctor a heads-up so they can keep an eye on your readings.
