Here's the thing to keep in mind with repaglinide (Prandin). This medication already works by pushing your pancreas to release more insulin, which lowers your blood sugar. Brewer's yeast naturally contains chromium, and some research in people with diabetes suggests that chromium-containing brewer's yeast can nudge blood sugar down a bit on its own.

Stacked together, the worry is an added blood-sugar-lowering effect, which could tip you into hypoglycemia. That can show up as shakiness, sweating, dizziness, a fast heartbeat, or feeling confused or foggy. This isn't a dramatic interaction, and the evidence is moderate, but it's worth a heads-up. Before adding regular brewer's yeast, check with your pharmacist or doctor and keep an eye on your sugar readings.

Repaglinide tablets are used to help control blood sugar in adults with type 2 diabetes, together with diet and exercise. It is not a substitute for healthy habits — it works best as part of a full diabetes management plan.

Repaglinide is not for type 1 diabetes or for treating diabetic ketoacidosis (a dangerous condition where the blood becomes too acidic due to lack of insulin).
