Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
IMMUNOSUPPRESSANTS
Why this applies to Ciclesonide
Ciclesonide falls under IMMUNOSUPPRESSANTS — the group Bupleurum interacts with.
In vitro and animal research suggests that bupleurum might stimulate immune function.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the thinking on combining bupleurum with your ciclesonide inhaler (Alvesco or Omnaris). Corticosteroids like ciclesonide calm down inflammation and dial back the immune response in your airways. Bupleurum, on the other hand, has shown signs in lab and animal studies that it might stimulate the immune system, which is basically the opposite direction. So in theory, it could nudge against what your steroid is trying to do.
I want to be honest with you: this concern comes only from test-tube and animal research, not from people, so it's quite theoretical. Still, if your asthma is well controlled and you notice more wheezing, chest tightness, or coughing after starting bupleurum, mention it to your pharmacist or doctor before changing anything.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Ciclesonide page
“Ciclesonide (Alvesco, Omnaris, Zetonna) is a corticosteroid for asthma and nasal allergies, and even though it is inhaled rather than swallowed, its supplement list warrants genuine care. The body clears it through the CYP3A4 enzyme, and 121 of the 166 ingredients on file nudge that pathway one way or the other.”
