In vitro and animal research suggests that bupleurum might stimulate immune function.

Dr. Brian Staiger explains PharmD, Clinical Pharmacist

Here's the honest picture for flupenthixol (Fluanxol). The interaction we have on file was written for immunosuppressant medicines, the idea being that bupleurum may gently rev up the immune system and work against drugs meant to calm it down. Flupenthixol, though, isn't an immunosuppressant at all. It's an antipsychotic used for conditions like schizophrenia and depression, and it works on dopamine signaling in the brain, not on the immune system.

So this particular immune-related concern doesn't really apply to flupenthixol, and the evidence behind it is only lab and animal data anyway. That said, bupleurum has been tied to liver problems, and both supplement and drug are processed by the liver, so I'd still loop in your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.
