ANTIDIABETES DRUGS
Why this applies to Insulin Lispro Recombinant
Insulin Lispro Recombinant falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Cabbage interacts with.
Animal and in vivo research suggests that cabbage might have hypoglycemic effects.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the simple version: Humalog (insulin lispro) is a fast-acting insulin that lowers your blood sugar at mealtimes. Cabbage, in some animal and early lab studies, may have a mild blood-sugar-lowering effect of its own. So in theory, eating a lot of cabbage on top of your insulin could nudge your sugar a little lower than usual, raising the chance of a low (shakiness, sweating, dizziness, fast heartbeat, confusion).
Honestly, this is a theoretical concern based on weak evidence, and normal food amounts of cabbage in a meal are very unlikely to cause trouble. If you start eating cabbage in large or concentrated supplement doses, just keep an eye on your readings and chat with your pharmacist or doctor before changing anything.

This page covers Cabbage only. If you take other supplements — a multivitamin, a sleep aid, something for joints — the Insulin Lispro Recombinant page lists 242 supplements it has a documented interaction with, worst first, each one explained.
The most serious there right now: Chelation Therapy Products (major), Siberian Cocklebur (major), Acai (moderate), African Wild Potato (moderate) and Agaricus Mushroom (moderate).
By severity: 2 major · 211 moderate · 29 minor.
From our pharmacist’s overview on the Insulin Lispro Recombinant page
“Two of the 242 entries here rate major, and they are the place to start. Siberian cocklebur has caused severe hypoglycemia, and chelation products containing EDTA can drop blood glucose steeply while also interfering with the insulin itself, so neither belongs anywhere near insulin lispro (Humalog KwikPen).”

About Cabbage
What is Cabbage?
- Breast engorgement during breastfeeding
- Joint pain and swelling (topical)
- Digestive and stomach upset
- General nutrition and antioxidant support
- Skin and minor inflammation (topical)
Cabbage is a nutritious, low-calorie vegetable that is safe to eat as food and is sometimes applied to the skin as a leaf wrap for breast engorgement or sore joints. Most medicinal claims are based on tradition or limited research, with the strongest (though still modest) evidence being for cooling cabbage leaves on engorged breasts. Talk to your pharmacist or doctor before using cabbage in large amounts or as a treatment.
