Caffeic Acid + Azilsartan
Azilsartan brand name: Edarbi.
We found no known interaction between Caffeic Acid and Azilsartan in our sources. Absence of a documented interaction is not the same as proven safety, and does not guarantee one does not exist. Do not start, stop, or change a medication or supplement based on this page; confirm with your pharmacist or doctor first.
Caffeic Acid and Azilsartan
We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.
No Known Interaction Found
We did not find a documented interaction between Azilsartan and Caffeic Acid in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — there is often limited research on supplements and herbal products, especially around drug interactions.
If you decide to take both, the practical routine is simple: add one new thing at a time and note the date you started it. If the combination is going to disagree with you, it usually shows in the first days to a couple of weeks — and a start date turns “I’ve been feeling off” into something a pharmacist can actually work with. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.
Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

Why No Interaction Is Listed for Azilsartan
Interactions in our licensed database are recorded against drug classes, not just single drug names. Azilsartan is filed under 4 classifications — including angiotensin receptor blockers (arbs), cytochrome p450 2c9 (cyp2c9) substrates, antihypertensive drugs. Caffeic Acid has documented interactions with 3 drug classes — the most serious being organic anion transporter 1 (oat1) substrates (moderate), organic anion transporter 3 (oat3) substrates (moderate) and levodopa (minor) — and none of Azilsartan’s classifications are among them.
Classification data comes from our licensed Natural Medicines dataset. A medication can belong to classes beyond those recorded there, so this describes how the check was run — it is not a safety guarantee.
Caffeic Acid Does Interact With Other Medications

These are real questions from readers, answered by the pharmacists at HelloPharmacist — written by a person, not generated from a database. From our pharmacist’s overview on the Azilsartan page
“Edarbi (azilsartan) lowers blood pressure, and its users are often the same shoppers browsing supplements sold for heart health, which makes this list of 182 ingredients one to treat with real care. Start with the four rated major: activated charcoal can soak up an oral dose before it absorbs, tyramine can push pressure up and blunt th…”

- What “no known interaction” means: no documented interaction in the sources above — not a guarantee of safety. Supplements are studied far less than prescription drugs, so we say exactly what the evidence supports, and nothing more.
About Caffeic Acid
What is Caffeic Acid?
- Antioxidant support
- General anti-inflammatory use
- Skin and sun protection (topical)
- Immune support
- Cancer-prevention interest (research stage)
Caffeic acid is a natural plant compound found in coffee, many fruits, vegetables, and herbs, and it is studied mainly for its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Most evidence comes from laboratory and animal research, so its benefits in people are not yet proven. If you want to take it as a supplement, talk with your pharmacist or doctor first.
Naturally occurring plant compound (found in coffee, fruits, and many herbs) · Capsules, tablets, powders, and as part of plant extracts (such as coffee or propolis)
An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Caffeic Acid is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Caffeic Acid record says about it on its own.
Caffeic Acid: dosing
There is no established standard dose of caffeic acid as a supplement. Research studies have used different amounts, and a safe, effective dose for general use has not been confirmed. If you choose to use a product that contains caffeic acid, follow the directions on the label and do not exceed the recommended amount.

About Azilsartan
What Is Azilsartan Used For?
Brand name: Edarbi
Azilsartan medoxomil tablets — sold as both the generic Azilsartan Medoxomil and the brand Edarbi — are approved to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults. Bringing blood pressure down lowers the risk of serious cardiovascular events, especially stroke and heart attack.
The medication can be used on its own or alongside other blood pressure medicines. It is not a cure for high blood pressure, and managing the condition fully often involves lifestyle steps like limiting sodium, exercising, and quitting smoking.
Most-Reported Side Effects for Azilsartan
From FAERS, the FDA’s public side-effect reporting system (4,183 reports, all brands). Reports are voluntary and are not proof the drug caused the effect.

Azilsartan Is Linked to Lower Levels of One Nutrient
Natural Medicines records Azilsartan as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Caffeic Acid — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
