Here's the short version: amlodipine (Katerzia) already lowers your blood pressure by relaxing your blood vessels. The thought is that concentrated caprylic acid might nudge your pressure down a little further, so in theory the two together could lower it more than amlodipine alone.

I want to be honest about how thin this is. The concern comes only from animal research and pharmacology theory, not real human cases, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it. The food amounts in coconut oil are very unlikely to matter. If you take a concentrated supplement, just keep an eye out for dizziness, lightheadedness when standing, headache, or swollen ankles, which are typical amlodipine effects anyway. Check in with your pharmacist or doctor before starting it.

What Is Amlodipine Used For?

Brand name: Katerzia

Amlodipine treats high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults and children aged 6–17 years. Lowering blood pressure reduces the risk of strokes and heart attacks. Sdamlo (oral solution) is specifically indicated for hypertension in adults and pediatric patients 6 years of age and older.

Amlodipine also treats coronary artery disease in adults, including chronic stable angina (chest pain with exertion), vasospastic angina (Prinzmetal's or variant angina, caused by coronary artery spasms), and documented coronary artery disease in patients without heart failure or significantly reduced heart pumping function.
