Here's the short version: this is a theoretical concern, not something we've seen play out in real patients. Ofatumumab (Kesimpta) is a lab-made antibody that works on your immune system to calm the nerve attacks that cause MS relapses. Catechu contains plant compounds (tannins and catechins) that, in test-tube and animal studies, seem to nudge the immune system too.

The worry is that catechu could pull the immune system in a different direction and blunt how well ofatumumab does its job. Honestly, the evidence is weak and we don't have human data. Still, since you're relying on this medicine to prevent relapses, it's worth a quick chat with your neurologist or pharmacist before adding concentrated catechu supplements. Don't change your injections on your own.

What Is Ofatumumab Injection (Multiple Sclerosis) Used For?

Brand name: Kesimpta

Kesimpta is used to treat relapsing forms of multiple sclerosis (MS) in adults. This includes clinically isolated syndrome (a first MS episode), relapsing-remitting MS (the most common form, with flares followed by recovery periods), and active secondary progressive MS (when the disease slowly worsens but still has active flares).

It is designed to reduce relapses and slow disease activity by targeting certain immune cells believed to drive MS damage.
