This combination pill pairs amitriptyline (an older antidepressant) with perphenazine (an antipsychotic). Both can already make you feel drowsy, foggy, or slowed down on their own. Catnip is thought to have mild calming, sleep-promoting effects, so the concern here is simply that the two could stack on top of each other and leave you more sedated than expected.

In real life that might look like extra grogginess, dizziness, trouble concentrating, or feeling unsteady on your feet, which raises fall risk. I want to be honest though: this is a theoretical caution based mostly on weak, anecdotal and animal data, not strong human studies. A cup of catnip tea now and then likely matters less than concentrated capsules. Still, check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them, and never stop your medication on your own.
