ANTIDIABETES DRUGS
Why this applies to Insulin Lispro-Aabc
Insulin Lispro-Aabc falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Ceylon Cinnamon interacts with.
Ceylon cinnamon may lower blood glucose levels. Dose adjustments might be necessary.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Lyumjev (insulin lispro-aabc) is a fast-acting mealtime insulin that lowers your blood sugar after you eat. The thinking here is simple: Ceylon cinnamon may also nudge blood sugar down a little, so taking concentrated cinnamon supplements alongside your insulin could stack those effects and push you lower than expected. That can show up as shakiness, sweating, dizziness, confusion, or a fast heartbeat, which are classic signs of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia).
Keep this in perspective, though. This concern comes only from lab and animal studies, not strong human data, and a normal sprinkle of cinnamon on your food is very unlikely to matter. If you're considering a daily cinnamon supplement, check with your pharmacist or doctor first and keep an eye on your glucose readings.

About Ceylon Cinnamon
What is Ceylon Cinnamon?
- Blood sugar support
- High cholesterol
- Indigestion and gas
- Antimicrobial
- General flavoring and culinary use
Ceylon cinnamon is the so-called 'true' cinnamon, valued as a spice and used in traditional medicine for blood sugar, cholesterol, and digestion. Evidence for most health benefits is limited and mixed, but as a food it is generally safe and contains far less coumarin than common cassia cinnamon. Talk with your pharmacist or doctor before taking concentrated supplements, especially if you have a health condition or take medications.
