Aripiprazole Lauroxil falls under PHOTOSENSITIZING DRUGS — the group Chlorella interacts with.

Theoretically, chlorella might have additive effects with photosensitizing drugs.
Chlorella has been reported to cause photosensitization. In five case reports, patients who had ingested chlorella exhibited swelling followed by erythematopurpuric lesions on sun-exposed areas of the body. Theoretically, concomitant use with photosensitizing drugs may exacerbate effects.

Here's the gist: this isn't about chlorella changing how your body handles your Aristada shot. Instead, both can independently make your skin more sensitive to sunlight. Aripiprazole carries a known potential for photosensitivity, and chlorella has been linked (in a handful of case reports) to sun-triggered skin reactions like swelling, redness, or purple-tinged spots on exposed areas. Stacking them together could, in theory, make a sunburn or rash more likely.

I want to be honest that this is a theoretical concern based on how these things behave, not a well-proven interaction. Most people won't have a problem. Still, it's reasonable to use sunscreen, cover up outdoors, and mention the chlorella to your prescriber or pharmacist before adding it.

Abilify Asimtufii is approved for the treatment of schizophrenia in adults and as maintenance monotherapy for bipolar I disorder in adults. Aristada is approved for the treatment of schizophrenia in adults, with Aristada Initio used specifically to help start Aristada therapy.
