Glipizide, Metformin falls under PHOTOSENSITIZING DRUGS — the group Chlorophyll interacts with.

Theoretically, concomitant use of chlorophyll with photosensitizing drugs may have additive effects.
Chlorophyll has been reported to cause photosensitization. In two case reports, pseudoporphyria developed after oral intake of chlorophyll. Theoretically, concomitant use with other photosensitizing drugs may exacerbate this effect.

Here's the deal with this combination, and I want to be upfront: it's not about your blood sugar control. Metformin and glipizide aren't broken down or changed by chlorophyll. The concern is something entirely separate, your skin's sensitivity to sunlight.

Glipizide is what we call a photosensitizing drug, meaning it can make your skin more prone to burning or rashes in the sun. Chlorophyll has its own reports of causing sun-related skin reactions (a couple of cases described a blistering condition called pseudoporphyria). Stacked together, in theory, they could make sunburn-type reactions a bit more likely. This is a theoretical concern, not something seen often in real life. Still, it's smart to wear sunscreen and run it by your pharmacist before adding chlorophyll.
