Methyclothiazide, Reserpine falls under DIURETIC DRUGS — the group Colocynth interacts with.

Here's the concern with Diutensen-R, which contains methyclothiazide. That's a thiazide-type water pill, and one thing it tends to do is push potassium out of your body. Colocynth acts as a strong laxative, and heavy diarrhea drains potassium too. Stack those two together and your potassium could drop lower than you'd want.

Low potassium (hypokalemia) can leave you feeling weak, crampy, tired, or with an irregular heartbeat. Honestly though, this is a theoretical worry based on how these things work, not on solid studies. The bigger issue is that colocynth itself is genuinely toxic and most pharmacists, myself included, would steer you away from it entirely. Please check with your doctor or pharmacist before mixing anything with this medication.
