Selexipag falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Cordyceps interacts with.

Theoretically, cordyceps may increase the risk of bleeding when used with antiplatelet or anticoagulant drugs.
In vitro and animal research suggests that cordyceps extract inhibits platelet aggregation and function. However, this interaction has not been reported in humans.

Here's the situation with cordyceps and Selexipag (Uptravi). The concern isn't really about how Selexipag is broken down. Instead, lab and animal studies hint that cordyceps may make platelets (your blood's clotting cells) a little less sticky, which could nudge up the risk of bleeding. Selexipag itself isn't a strong blood thinner, but it can already cause minor bleeding-type side effects in some people, so stacking another mild platelet effect on top isn't ideal.

I want to be honest: this is theoretical. It has only been seen in test tubes and animals, never reported in real patients. So please don't panic. Just keep an eye out for easy bruising, nosebleeds, or bleeding gums, and check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding a cordyceps supplement.

Cordyceps is a fungus used in traditional Chinese medicine for energy, exercise performance, and lung and immune support. What Is Selexipag Used For?

Brand name: Uptravi

Selexipag tablets are used to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH, WHO Group I) — a type of high blood pressure in the arteries of the lungs. The goal is to slow the disease from getting worse and to reduce the chances of being hospitalized because of PAH.

Uptravi (selexipag) tablets are approved for both adults and children aged 2 years and older. Uptravi for injection (intravenous) is also available for adult patients who are already on Uptravi tablets but temporarily cannot take medicine by mouth.
