Here's the simple version: amlodipine already works by relaxing your blood vessels to bring your pressure down. Coriander, in some animal studies, also seems to nudge blood pressure lower. So in theory, pairing them could push your numbers down a little more than expected. This isn't a metabolism issue (amlodipine isn't a prodrug, so nothing is being switched on or off here), it's just two things working in the same direction.

If that overlap did matter, you might feel dizzy, lightheaded, unusually tired, or wobbly when you stand up quickly. The good news: this is rated theoretical and comes only from animal research, so the everyday cilantro in your tacos or curry is very unlikely to cause trouble. Concentrated coriander extracts or essential oils are a different story, so check with your pharmacist before using those.

What Is Amlodipine Used For?

Brand name: Katerzia

Amlodipine treats high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults and children aged 6–17 years. Lowering blood pressure reduces the risk of strokes and heart attacks. Sdamlo (oral solution) is specifically indicated for hypertension in adults and pediatric patients 6 years of age and older.

Amlodipine also treats coronary artery disease in adults, including chronic stable angina (chest pain with exertion), vasospastic angina (Prinzmetal's or variant angina, caused by coronary artery spasms), and documented coronary artery disease in patients without heart failure or significantly reduced heart pumping function.
