These two interact in 2 distinct ways. Each one is explained separately below.
Why Are There 2 Interactions?
Coriander interacts with whole categories of medication. Amlodipine Besylate, Benazepril falls into 2 of those categories, so it can interact with Coriander in 2 different ways. We’ve listed each one below — your overall risk is driven by the most serious of them (Moderate).
ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS
1 of 2Why this applies to Amlodipine Besylate, Benazepril
Amlodipine Besylate, Benazepril falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group Coriander interacts with.
Evidence from animal research suggests that coriander fruit can lower blood pressure.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Lotrel combines two blood pressure medicines: amlodipine (a calcium channel blocker) and benazepril (an ACE inhibitor). Both work to relax your blood vessels and bring your numbers down. The thought here is that coriander may gently nudge blood pressure lower on its own, so stacking it on top of Lotrel could, in theory, push things a little too far.
Honestly, the evidence here is thin. It comes from animal studies, not people, so I don't want you to worry. The amount of cilantro you use in cooking is very unlikely to cause any trouble. If you're using concentrated coriander extracts or oils, that's a different story, and it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist. Watch for dizziness, lightheadedness, or feeling faint when standing up.

PHOTOSENSITIZING DRUGS
2 of 2Amlodipine Besylate, Benazepril also falls under PHOTOSENSITIZING DRUGS.
Evidence from in vitro research suggests that coriandrin, a constituent of coriander, has photosensitizing effects.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist for your Lotrel, which combines amlodipine and benazepril for blood pressure. This particular concern isn't about how your body breaks down the medicine. Instead, both ingredients can occasionally make your skin more sensitive to sunlight, and coriander may add a little to that. A plant compound in coriander called coriandrin showed photosensitizing effects in lab dish studies only, so this is very much a theory, not something proven in people.
In real life, the main thing to watch for would be sunburning faster than usual. Honestly, eating cilantro in your food is very unlikely to cause any trouble. If you use concentrated coriander oils or extracts, just be a bit more careful with sun and sunscreen, and check with your pharmacist if you're unsure.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Amlodipine Besylate, Benazepril page
“Grapefruit sits high on the worry list for anyone taking Lotrel (amlodipine besylate and benazepril), a two-in-one blood pressure pill. It blocks CYP3A4, the enzyme that clears amlodipine, so drug levels can climb, and it is one of nine major-rated interactions among the 257 supplement and herbal ingredients on file.”
