Rauzide combines two blood pressure lowering ingredients: bendroflumethiazide (a water pill) and rauwolfia serpentina (which calms an overactive nervous system). Coriander isn't broken down or activated by this medicine, so we're not talking about an enzyme problem here. Instead, the concern is simply that both work in the same direction. Some animal studies suggest coriander can gently lower blood pressure on its own, so stacking it on top of Rauzide could, in theory, push your numbers a little too low.

If that happened, you might feel dizzy, lightheaded, or faint, especially when standing up quickly. Keep in mind this is theoretical and based only on animal research, and normal cooking amounts of cilantro are very unlikely to matter. Concentrated extracts or oils are a different story, so check with your pharmacist or doctor before using those.

Here's the gist with Rauzide (a combination of bendroflumethiazide, a water pill, and rauwolfia). Thiazide diuretics like bendroflumethiazide already have a known tendency to make your skin more sensitive to sunlight. Coriander may add a small push in the same direction. A plant compound in coriander called coriandrin showed photosensitizing effects in lab dish studies, so the worry is mainly theoretical.

In real life, that could mean sunburning faster or getting a rash on sun-exposed skin. The good news: this is based on weak, anecdotal evidence, and normal cooking amounts of cilantro are very unlikely to matter. Concentrated coriander extracts or oils are the bigger question. Either way, use sunscreen, and check with your pharmacist before starting any supplement.
