Gliclazide already does one main job: it pushes your pancreas to release more insulin, which brings your blood sugar down. Corn silk may have its own mild blood-sugar-lowering effect, so the worry here is simple addition. Stack the two and your sugar could dip lower than expected, which we call hypoglycemia. Watch for shakiness, sweating, hunger, a racing heart, dizziness, or confusion.

I want to be honest about the strength of this, though. The concern comes from animal studies in diabetic mice, not solid human trials, so it stays theoretical. A small cup of corn silk tea likely matters little, but concentrated extracts are harder to predict. Don't change your gliclazide on your own. Just check your sugars and let your pharmacist or doctor know if you want to try corn silk.
